Vimy Trek 2017

On 9 April 1917, four divisions of the Canadian Corps, fighting together for the first time, attacked and succeeding where all others had failed captured Vimy Ridge.  This stunning victory sealed Canada’s reputation as a force to be reckoned with and become the symbol of the birth of Canada as an independent nation.

In recognition of the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge, many organizations and people across the world are planning commemorative trips to the Vimy area of France in 2017.  The significance of this centennial year is recognized at the highest levels of the Canadian Government and the Canadian Armed Forces.

To commemorate the contribution and sacrifice made by these brave Canadians, the Army Cadet League of Canada (Manitoba) has partnered with all of the Manitoba Army Corps to host 100+ Manitoba cadets on a tour of Europe to mark this event.

As a corps the 407 Royal Canadian Army Cadets sent 13 cadets and 2 staff.

We wish to thank all our sponsors, parents and the cadets for their commitment and hard work over the last 3 years to achieve this goal.
