Pipe Band

The 407 Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada Army Cadet Pipe Band was formed over 100 years ago and provides cadets instruction in the Great Highland Bagpipe, Snare Drum and Bass/Tenor Drum.

The Pipe Band provides cadets an opportunity to participate in music training and pipe band activities. Activities include music theory, band drill, performing as a member of a band or as a soloist and instructional techniques.

Members of the Pipes and Drums can also apply to attend Cadet Summer Training Centers (CSTC) for 3 or 6 week course depending upon their skill levels.  Pipe Band training is normally conducted at;
  • Vernon CSTC (BC)
  • Rocky Mountain CSTC (AB)
All cadets are encouraged to join the Pipe Band, even if you have little or no experience. The Regimental Pipes and Drums of the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada provides excellent instruction in all of the previously mentioned instruments.

The Pipes and Drums practice Saturday mornings at Minto Armoury in the Regimental Band Room of the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
